“So, I’ll call you tomorrow.” He said leaning in to kiss me. Austin was cute, sexy even but this date left a lot to be desired. His personality was totally different than he portrayed himself when we chatted online. He was so… dry and awkward. I spent the better part of our date dreaming about the caramel cookie crunch gelato I have hidden in the back of the fridge. Occasionally, I’d lick my lips at the thought of spending the remainder of my evening curled up in bed with my gelato watching a good movie on Netflix. The erection I could feel against my hip when Mr. Corn Ball attempted to kiss me implied he felt those thoughts of desire were directed at him. He was out of his mind if he thought he would ever taste me. I quickly turned my head causing his lips to crush against my cheek.
“Yeah, you do that.” I said turning my back to him so that I could unlock the door to the condo I shared with my best friend, Raquel. I had no intention of answering his phone call or responding to his text messages ever again. As a matter a fact, the first order of business once I get inside is to unfriend, unfollow and block him on every form of social media, especially Hello Cupid since that’s where I met him in the first place.
“Umm… okay then. Good night, Bria.” Austin said not hiding his disappointment. I avoided my urge to roll my eyes. Instead I kindly turned my face to him and smiled.
“Good night, Austin. I enjoyed getting to know you better.” Yes I was lying but I figured I had to throw the guy a bone. The male ego can be so fragile sometimes. His face softened noting that my compliment, no matter how fake it was, had worked it’s magic. I gave him one last smile before opening the door to my home and closing it tightly behind me. As soon as I heard his footsteps start walking towards the elevator I called through the house for the person responsible for sending me on this pointless ass date, “Raquel!”
